Coaches :: KC Emerson

In 1989, KC was hired to run the Fastlane program by original owner Lesley Beatson. KC took over the company in 1991. Fastlane expanded to include a winter program at St. George's School pool, and, more recently, a 2 group/4 mornings structure for the Kits summer program.

KC has a Masters degree in Coaching Sciences from UBC and was an assistant coach with Triathlon Canada's National Team from 1993 to 1997. She's also spent many years coaching summer and winter club youth swimmers and masters competitors.

KC's first love is swimming (particularly at Kits Pool) but her passion over the past decade has grown to include triathlon. In addition to successes in record setting (Skaha Lake open water swim) and at age group and Simon Fraser University varsity swimming, KC competed at Triathlon World Championships and was awarded 1997 Triathlon Canada Age Group Athlete of the Year. She's also been Vice President of TriBC since 1993.

While not coaching, administrating, or actually swimming, biking and running herself, KC is an instructor in the Department of Human Performance & Recreation at Langara College. Additional recreation includes kayak and hiking adventures!
